Message from Gary Cousins

I have been informed that Trevor Humphries QSM of RIMPAC passed away at 7am this morning.

Trevor was a stalwart advocate for all veterans and the founder and mainstay of RIMPAC.  He trained and assisted advocates around the country.  He also was the editor of bi-monthly newsletter "Prickley Heat" which was know for highlighting the veterans issues, and Govt inaccuracies.(Govt always received a copy along with many organisations and individuals around the world).

He recently wrote a book on his fight as a nuclear veteran and his attempt for justice by attempting to take the Govt to the High Court of the exposure of Naval personnel to radiation from nuclear testing.   Unfortunately health and costs caused him to withdraw suit.  (Govt agreed to eliminate all costs if he withdrew the suit).

RIMPACs motto is "Nils Desperado Carborundem," loose Latin interpretation, "Never Let The Bastards Grind You Down".  Well Trev many of the 'Bastards' may be smiling this Xmas at your passing but they never 'Ground' you down.  It was the cancers caused by exposure to radiation which succesive NZ Govts will not recognise.

The majority of your shipmates will be there to welcome you.
