Yarn from Dennis Porteous

This fishing boat belongs to my old driver in Tarawa. "Mack Takenikeaki". Brilliant guy.

When I interviewed him for the job, I asked him about work experience.
He told me he worked in a circus, so he got the job immediately.

I used to tell him all the stories when I was on the Taranaki but never in the life of me thought he'd name his boat HMNZS Taranaki.

He named his son (Dennis) as well.
That is the second Dennis named after me in the Pacific.

The two boys both have black hair so don't start rumours.
